Community Corner

Blessing of the Animals

On Sunday, October 6 at 2 p.m., the entire community is invited to gather with their pets in the St. Francis Garden (front lawn of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 1509 Ridge Avenue, Evanston) for the annual Blessing of the Animals in honor of the Feast of St. Francis.

Prayers will also be said for those who have lost beloved pets in the past year.  If you have lost a beloved pet in the past year that you would like remembered on this day, please send the pet’s name to Pastor Debra at rector@stmarksevanston.org.

Each pet (beloved stuffed animals are also welcome) will receive a blessing and a certificate and, with the exception of snakes and lizards, some loving from Pastor Debra!
