Join 8th Ward Alderman Ann Rainey, the Evanston Chamber of Commerce and City staff in celebrating the Ribbon Cutting and Grand Re-Opening of Evanston’s neighborhood wine shop, Sips on Sherman, located at 1741 Sherman Avenue, Evanston, on Thursday, May 1 at 5 p.m.
The general public is invited to join owners Dean and Maggie Noonan and staff for a wine tasting party, appetizers and a raffle. Food will be generously supplied by Koi, Pete Miller’s, Jimmy John’s and Einstein Bagels. In addition to toasting the newly-named shop, the Noonans are celebrating their 6th year in business.
“Dean and I are proud to have been a part of the Evanston business community for the last six years,” said Maggie Noonan. “We look forward to an exciting future and celebrating our Grand Re-Opening as Sips on Sherman with everyone!”
Sips on Sherman sells wine, craft beer, spirits and gifts in an inviting and friendly shop, where the wine is organized by taste and the staff enjoys educating customers. In addition to free weekly wine tastings every Thursday 6-8pm and Saturday 2-4pm, the shop offers special food and drink pairing events and classes where you can learn to taste wine like a pro. The name Sips on Sherman replaces WineStyles and was chosen after a popular, community-wide contest. The winner
of the contest received an annual membership to the Sips on Sherman Wine Club.
