Center for Independent Futures & District 65 Host Story Pirates

Story Pirates Sail into Evanston!

Center for Independent Futures is proud to partner with Evanston/Skokie School District 65 to host Story Pirates, a nationally respected group of actors from New York City and Los Angeles who are dedicated to celebrating the words and ideas of young people. The Story Pirates don't dress as pirates or make anybody walk the plank, but they do steal: they take their inspiration from kids themselves, creating an entire show adapted from stories penned by authors under the age of 12. With music, puppets, and a hilarious glimpse of the world through the minds of kids, this is the only show in town where you might see a David Bowie-style tribute to a good Hebrew School education. Based in New York and Los Angeles, the Story Pirates have blown the minds of 500,000 second graders. You're next.
