Chateau La Nerthe Wine Dinner at Quince
Quince restaurant will host a Chateau La Nerthe wine dinner on Thursday, December 12. Executive Chef Andy Motto has created a five course menu that pairs with wine from one of the Rhone Valley's oldest estates. Chateau La Nerthe was born in the 12th century, when vines were first planted in the stone-strewn soil of Chateauneuf-du-Pape ("Pope's new castle"), the place pontiffs chose for their summer residence when the papel court relocated to Avignon. The 225 acres of Chateau La Nerthe’s vineyards are located in a single block around the chateau and have been certified organic since 1998.
The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. Local wine retailer, Vinic Wine Company (Evanston), will lead the dinner and discuss the history of the winery. The fee to attend is $110 per guest. Please call (847) 570-8400 for reservations.
