Christmas á la Downton at Lang House B&B on Sheridan

Are you gearing
up for the return of Downton Abbey? Would you like to know how to make some of those lovely Edwardian Christmas treats? Would you enjoy having them made for
you by a Manor House Cook and Served by a Butler?

The Lang House B&B
on Sheridan (formerly Cat’s Cradle B&B) is pleased to present its first
special event to be held on Tuesday, December 17 at 6pm.  Lang House is a circa 1919 prairie style and four
square home situated next to the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Emil Bach House on North Sheridan Road.  Lang House B&B has
five guest rooms each with a private bath. The house has original stencil work
and murals, wood burning fireplace, along with modern amenities such as heated
bathroom floors. Tours of the house will be included in the ticket price.

Mrs. Eaton is
played by Ellie Carlson and Mr. Howe is played by Mark Howe of Ellie Presents
and Sweet Symphonie Custom Catering (www.elliepresents.com, www.sweetsymphonie.com). They are Caterers in Costume and have been presenting
Downton Abbey-Themed Cooking Classes and Events for the past year. They will
prepare and serve Roasted Chestnut Soup, Herbed Shortbread, Individual Duck
Pies and Figgie Pudding for the guests of this event. Interested attendees may
also participate in food preparation, learning how to make dishes from Mrs.
Eaton. Men who might wish to enter service can be instructed by Mr. Howe as to
how to perform the tasks of Footmen and Butlers.
