Dramatic Portrayal: Coco Chanel - An Intmate Look at a Style Icon

At NSSC, Northfield Location:

Barbara Rinella, Book Reviewer/Dramatist

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the
opening of Coco Chanel's first shop in Deauville, France in 1813, Barbara
Rinella has created a special tribute to this quintessential woman of
style!  Drawing upon two books,  'The Power of Style' by Annette Tapert and
Diana Edkins and Lisa Chaney's 2011 biography, Coco Chanel: An Intimate Life,
Barbara reveals Coco to us. Beginning with the little French girl, Gabrielle
Jeanne Chanel, who spent her early years in an orphanage, gained her nickname
from singing cafe concerts about a little lost dog, and evolved to found an
empire of style, Barbara then takes us though Coco's

life and experiences. Who was the great love of her life?
What connection did she make with Winston Churchill?  Why did she turn to her lucky number 5? Come
to meet Coco, and feel free to wear your best Chanel suit or that fabulous
treasure she invented: the little black dress!
