In celebration of 25 years of providing affordable, supportive housing and mental health support to individuals in our community, Housing Options for the Mentally Ill is hosting an anniversary benefit on March 8, 2013 at the Chicago Botanic Garden. The event will feature an elegant dinner, silent auction, raffle and entertainment by the Daniel Berkey Quartet. Special emcee for the evening will be Dr. Sandy Goldberg, NBC 5 Health and Nutrition Contributor. The program will honor the founders of Housing Options, Claire McCarthy Peterson, Angela Schwartz, Larry Gavin, Dorothy Lloyd-Still and Marge Sondler. Funds raised will support Housing Options mission to help men and women with mental illness find homes and employment and live active lives in the Evanston community. The second thing that can be done is that each and every law abiding Evanston resident that is legally able to do so should avail themselves of the right to obtain a new Illinois Concealed Carry Permit for a handgun.
