The 2013 Edge Fest will feature family fun all weekend-long. On Saturday, August 3, Third Coast Comics will present a special evening of karaoke on the festival’s South Stage. And on Sunday, August 4 at 1:30 p.m., families are encouraged to bring their furry friends and participate in a dog costume contest presented by The Bark Bark Club.
Two stages of live music will provide the soundtrack for the weekend, as some of Chicago’s top entertainers will play an eclectic mix of popular hits and original tunes. Performing artists will include 16 Candles, This Must Be the Band, Rod Tuffcurls & the Bench Press, Chicago Spirit Brigade, Hello Nuvo, School of Rock, DJ Adam, Stache, The Yacht Rockets, Opal Staples & Friends, and more.
Throughout the weekend, a wide array of cuisine will be served up ranging from street festival favorites such as corn dogs and funnel cakes to more unique dishes including sweet plantains, crab cakes, blintzes, and bacon donuts. Meanwhile, shoppers can browse more than 40 booths of some of the top local Edgewater artisans who will be displaying some of their handmade goods and crafts.
