Koi Hosts Northlight Theatre The Whipping Man Trip

Ticket Sales to benefit The Forest E. Powell Foundation

On Saturday, February 9, Koi will host an evening trip to the Northlight Theatre in Skokie for a production of The Whipping Man. The evening will begin at Koi, located in downtown Evanston, at 6 p.m. where guests are invited to gather and indulge in appetizers and drinks. Transportation will be included for the 8 p.m. show as well as a special post-performance Q&A session with the show’s writer and actors. Following the show, attendees will be brought back to Koi.

The Whipping Man is the story of three men, a Jewish Confederate solider and his two former slaves, who reunite after the Civil War. As they struggle to rebuild their lives in this post-war era, the men uncover a tangle of secrets that threaten their families and their shared faith.

Tickets for the event are available on the Forest E. Powell Foundation website and are $100 per person. The price includes one drink ticket and passed appetizers at Koi before the show, transportation to and from the Northlight Theatre, tickets to the show, after show cookies and a goody bag from Evanston Merchants. Ticket sales help to benefit the Forest E. Powell Foundation, an Evanston foundation that supports young men and women pursuing vocational studies with scholarships and guidance.
