Fall Community Day 2013 on Central Street, Evanston Sat. Oct. 26th 10am-5pm--Shop and Give Back to Local Community Organizations
Fall Community Day 2013 is fast approaching!

(Evanston, Il.--Oct. 8, 2013) The Central Street Business Association ,The Central Street Neighbors Association and The Evanston Review and Sun Times Media are proud to sponsor Fall Community Day 2013 on Central Street Sat. Oct. 26th. This shopping and fundraising event takes place during store hours on Sat. Oct. 26th (primarily 10am- 5pm) in the Shopping District all along Central Street. After great success with previous Community Day Events on Central Street ,The Central Street Business Association now dedicates two yearly (Fall and Spring) dates to do this event to maximize the benefit to the community.  

Central Street, Evanston is a unique blend of small, local independent businesses with many long standing retailers, sprinkled with service providers and several newly opened businesses, including excellent restaurants.  "The Central Street Neighborhood just received a National Award from the American Planning Association as one of "Americas Top 10 Most Livable Neighborhoods". The criteria for the award include, among other things, remarkable character, visually interesting design and architecture, and great community gathering places."

The deserving charitable organizations who will be the beneficiaries of this community focused shopping event are listed below.
On Saturday Oct.26th bring your Community Day Flyer into a participating business on Central Street and they will donate a portion of your purchase to the participating organization of your choice.  Donations range from 10-20% on your purchases.  What could be simpler? You make your regular purchases on Central Street (and maybe a little something extra for you or someone special) and the merchants donate to deserving organizations in the community. Keep an eye out for a special invitation from your favorite community organization.

 Central Street Evanston is a vibrant shopping district located in North Evanston on Central Street. Shops line Central Street from just east to west of Green Bay Road.The Central Street Business Association participates in Shop Small Stores, a campaign to support local business and engage with the community. Community Day on Central Street is a great way to give back and support local business at the same time.

 The Cradle Foundation  - Evanston Nursery Fund--On-site care for infants whose parents are deciding if adoption is best  for  them and  who have special medical needs. 
 Evanston Connections for the Homeless* --Housing and Homelessness prevention programs for Evanston residents in need 
 Evanston Public Library Friends--Strengthening the Evanston Public Library's innovation, leadership and community outreach 
 Mitchell Museum of the American Indian *--An Evanston museum with a unique focus on the history, culture and art of the American Indian and First Nation peoples of  the U.S. and Canada
SHORE Community Services -  Evanston Area----Improves the quality of life for citizens with developmental disabilities.
