Lerner and Loewe: The Most 'Loverly' Music
At NSSC, Northfield Location:
Susan Benjamin, Musical Biographer
The unlikely pairing of Frederick Loewe, a Viennese
musician, and Alan Jay Lerner, a dapper New Yorker, dominated the musical stage
of the 1950s. Their musicals, including My Fair Lady, Brigadoon and Camelot,
mixed social commentary with fantasy. This program demonstrates how lovely
Lerner and Loewe's musicals are to experience - even today.
