Lincoln Elementary Family Fall Fest

Evanston’s
Lincoln Elementary School will host its second-annual Family Fall Fest on the
school’s grounds on Saturday, October 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lincoln
families and teachers, and the community are invited to the festival, which
features fun activities such as a moonwalk, giant slide, dunk tank, rope
bridge, obstacle course, games, prizes, a pumpkin sale and refreshments. Fall
Fest, sponsored by Lincoln’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA), will take place
rain or shine.

In
addition to games and attractions, festival attendees can decorate tiles for a
permanent art installation on the school grounds and see the school’s new
public art installations: a Lake Michigan-inspired mural with elements created
by Lincoln kids and installed under the guidance of artist Sonata
Kazimieraitiene; and a bench decorated with tiles created at last year’s Fall
Fest and other events. Attendees also can cheer on Lincoln students who have secured
pledges from family and friends to run laps or an obstacle course to benefit
their school.

Proceeds
from the event will cover special grants to pay for classroom needs and will fund
enrichment opportunities that occur during the school day, such as author
readings and visits by theater groups.
