EVANSTON, IL
(OCTOBER 3, 2013) -
The
Lisker Music Foundation
(LMF), a non-profit

world in concert halls throughout the Chicagoland, is kicking off its

The impressive lineup of musicians will include violinist and LMF
artistic director, David Lisker, a graduate of
Juilliard where he studied with Itzhak Perlman, violinist/violist Bela Horvath,
who completed
his studies at the Manhattan School of Music as a student of Pinchas Zukerman,
principal oboist of the LOC, Judith Kulb, and fellow LOC members, violinists
Eugene Pazin and Heather Wittels.  The evening’s harpsichordist, Jason
Moy, currently serves on the faculty of
the DePaul University School of Music, where he teaches harpsichord and directs
the Baroque Ensemble.

“I am so honored to have this opportunity to perform
with such incredible musicians.  It is
concerts like this that truly reaffirm my passion for music, and remind me why
I’ve dedicated so much of my life to it,” says David Lisker, artistic director
of LMF.

Dating back to the 1600s, Baroque music was the natural progression in the
development of music.  Flash forward to the new millennium, it is still
widely studied, performed, and adored.  LMF
has truly captured the excitingly diverse art of the baroque concerto featuring
such works as: Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto no. 3, Double Violin Concerto,
Concerto for Violin and Oboe, Vivaldi’s Double Violin Concerto, “Summer” from
the 4 Seasons, Concerto for 4 Violins, and more.

The Lisker Music
Foundation views music as the heart and soul of every community. Their mission
is to give extraordinarily gifted performers the opportunity to share their
talents with Chicago-land, thereby offering the public musical experiences at
the highest and most fulfilling level, while providing up-and-coming artists
the exposure and appreciation that they deserve.

“I spend much of my
time teaching music to children, so I have witnessed firsthand how
significantly the arts can impact an individual.  In a time when many orchestras, performers,
and musical institutions are struggling to survive, I think it’s so important
to keep pushing, and to continue to present fantastic and unforgettable programs;
to ensure that the community is not deprived of such a vital element in our
lives,” states Art Lisker, executive director of LMF, who has a true passion
for keeping classical music alive.
