Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras 2014 in Evanston

March 4 is Fat Tuesday and one of
the most popular and longest running Mardi Gras celebrations in the Chicago
area is at Davis Street
Fishmarket
(501 Davis Street, Evanston). 2014 is its 29th Annual
Mardi Gras and highlights New Orleans’ voodoo culture. Customers can get free psychic and Tarot readings and enjoy live
music by Sanctified Grumblers.
 
Masquerades are welcome and prizes
will be given for first, second, and third place costumes.



Admission is free and reservations
for dinner are highly recommended. Reservations
can be made by calling 847-869-3474 or online at www.davissstreetfishmarket.com.



Food specials include Pecan-Encrusted Lemon Fish with
crawfish bisque, Brussels sprouts, sweet potato, forest mushrooms, hominy, Neuske
bacon; Pan-Roasted Red Drum with spicy
beurre blanc sauce, loaded grits, neuske bacon; French-Fried Frog Legs; Crawfish Fritters, Jambalaya, and another
two dozen New Orleans classics.
