Nosh for Nurture

On Saturday, September 28th from 7-10pm Nurture is hosting its annual benefit, Nosh for Nurture, at the Winnetka Presbyterian Church at 1255 Willow Road. Tickets are only $50 per person and 100% of the funds raised will go to support cooking and nutrition education programs for low-income families in Evanston and beyond.

Attendees will enjoy fabulous appetizers and wine while mingling and watching cooking demonstrations.  Last year’s event attracted over 120 attendees. We anticipate closer to 200 attendees this year from all over the North Shore, including Evanston.

Support Nurture as we seek to improve the health of limited-resource families in Evanston through the power of delicious, nutritious food. If you cannot attend, please consider making a donation to this important cause.

About Nurture:

Nurture is a non-profit organization that provides cooking, nutrition and wellness education through social service agencies serving low-income families and through schools.

We give participants slow cookers to speed the cooking process. We educate families on preparing whole grains, legumes, fruits and vegetables. We provide recipes for delicious, nutritious meals costing $1.50 or less a serving.

In 2012 Nurture programming reached over 7,000 children and parents. Program alumni are making healthier meals, increasing physical activity, and saving money on food. Nurture’s leadership manages over 130 volunteers, who donate over $500,000 worth of hours annually.
