Several local musicians and musical organizations,
such as the Music Institute of Chicago have partnered with local businesses to
bring live performances to downtown Evanston during this kick-off celebration!
Listen to live music as you shop, dine and indulge in refreshments offered by
local businesses. In addition to live performances indoors, keep an eye out for
strolling carolers making their way throughout downtown.

At 5:30 p.m. be sure you and the kids are in Fountain Square to welcome Mayor Tisdahl,
Santa and Mrs. Claus as they make their way down Sherman Avenue on an Evanston
fire truck! Sing along to holiday carols with the Music Institute of Chicago and
lend a hand in helping Mayor Tisdahl flip the switch and light up the tree in
Fountain Square! After the tree lighting
Santa will be visiting with children at 812 Church St., so make sure to bring your Christmas
list! In addition to Santa, you can visit with Mrs. Claus from 4 – 9pm at Bravo
Cucina Italiana!

Homeless.

“Dancing, music, a tree
lighting, Santa, Mrs. Claus and plenty of opportunities to donate to those in
need is a great way to start the holidays!” said Mayor Tisdahl.
