Bob Fritz, owner of Windy City Gdn Ctr, says his father actually started business on the lot at 2000 Green Bay Rd in Evanston in 1989. At first his father just sold pumpkins and Christmas trees. Bob began selling annuals and perennials in 1994. His mother, Karen, works part of the season and is gifted at putting together striking combinations of plants for the baskets they offer. Bob says regular impatiens sales are maybe one fourth of what they were because of downy mildew, but begonia sales are "More than double." A great place to find some interesting, well cared for
plants.
