Register now for the next Community Conversations on Race series at the YWCA Evanston/North Shore. Whether you live, work, worship, or shop in Evanston, you know that we pride ourselves on being a diverse community. But we still struggle, becoming polarized or talking all AROUND it, when conversations or community decisions might involve race. It’s time to sit down and learn to talk THROUGH racism and its effects, instead of around it.
Trained facilitators use a variety of materials and listening and sharing activities, to help participants consider how systemic racism affects the day to day life of ALL in Evanston. Community members working together to identify and eliminate causes of inequity would be transformational for everyone in Evanston. We will meet four Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm, beginning Jan. 25th.
