Grey Park Clean-up Set for May 21

The Evanston Parks Coalition will be sponsoring a clean-up day at Grey Park, located at the corner of Ridge Ave. and Main St., on May 21st from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Projects planned for the clean-up day include: planting annuals on the corner of Ridge Ave. and Main St., spreading out wood chips provided by the city around all trees, placing a border around the community garden (the city is providing the materials), painting the benches and tables, and cleanhing up trash.

Volunteers are asked to bring the following: rakes, lawn bags, wheel barrows, garden gloves, shovels and brooms. Refreshments and bagels will be provided. For additional information, contact Belén Ayestarán at belenayestaran@earthlink.net.

The Evanston Parks Coalition advocates for the continued maintenance, development, improvement and use of the Evanston parks system and to ensure that the parks sustain the highest level of accessibility, diversity and innovation. The Evanston Parks Coalition is working to build the organization by recruiting affiliated groups that share and publicly support its mission.
