Harlow has fought two battles against cancer and is only 5 years old. Recently an ultrasound revealed masses in the River Forest girl's abdomen, according to her page on GoFundMe. Her family is trying to raise $25,000 to cover her medical expenses.
Her story is one of many from the area of locals seeking help raising money for a cause, be it their own, or to help others, such as the Lake Bluff college student hoping to fund a trip to California to learn about migrant labor laws. Each week we feature different local campaigns.
