Why You Should Volunteer At Connections For The Homeless

Patch helped sort clothing donations, swept the food pantry and sorted mail at the Evanston nonprofit Connections for the Homeless this week.

The agency serves more than 1,000 people each year who are homeless or at risk of losing their homes in Evanston and around the North Shore. Programs include emergency financial support, in-depth case management, assistance finding new housing, health services, employment counseling, child advocacy services and a transitional shelter where those who qualify can stay up to 3 months.

Watch this video to hear volunteer manager JoBeth Hamon explain why you should help out, too.

Visit the Connections for the Homeless website for more information on programs and volunteering.
