SWANCC Helps Evanston Go Green in 2013

There are a number of ways you can start a living 'Greener' life, and SWANCC is a resource for member communities in northern Cook County.

Do you want to learn how to compost your yard waste, educate yourself on recycling and reducing your carbon footprint, or are you searching for reuse options for items you currently own?

If so, the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC) is your resource for all things relating to Going Green in 2013. 

If you are interested in learning how to compost your yard waste instead of leaving it at the curb, an instructional video provided by SWANCC can walk you through how to do this at home. 

There is a Reuse and Recycling Directory that can help you handle a number of household items you don't know what to do with, including books, clothing, sporting goods, toys and much more. 

Want to lessen your impact on the environment? Websites likewww.freecycle.orgwww.craigslist.org and www.ebay.com all offer ways for you to reduce the amount of materials you contribute to the waste stream in northern Cook County.
