Curt's Cafe Founder Recognized As L'Oreal Woman of Worth

Susan Trieschmann, founder of Curt's Cafe in Evanston, was recently recognized as a 2013 L'Oreal Paris Women of Worth honoree, according to the Evanston Review.

Trieschmann opened Curt's Cafe in May 2012 with a mission of helping young offenders find their way back into society. The café provides a daily stipend, job training and job placement to young adults between the ages of 15 and 24, all of whom have come in contact with the juvenile justice system for one reason or another. 
“Eighty-two percent of the time kids will re-offend within the year,” Trieschmann told Patch in May 2012. “We’re trying to break the cycle.”
Trieschman's daughter, Anna, nominated her for the award, which comes with a $10,000 donation to her organization, according to the Review.
