What's the Best Coffee Shop in Evanston?

When you need a caffeine fix, where do you turn? Vote for your favorite local coffee shop in our Readers' Choice poll.

Is drinking coffee good or bad for your health?

A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine Monday may provide an answer. Tracking the mortality rate of a group of 400,000 older adults over the course of 13 years, the authors found an inverse relationship between coffee drinking and mortality. That is, the more coffee study participants drank, the less likely they were to die.

In celebration, we'll drink to that (coffee, of course.) We'd also like to know where you go locally to get your caffeine fix. Which coffee shop has the best baristas? The best brews? The best seats?

Here's a look at a sampling around town that can help you make the best choice. Vote for your favorite in our poll, and please consider visiting their Patch listing page and leaving a review. We have a seriously extensive business directory, and it's designed for you to share recommendations and praise — or warnings and words to the wise — for businesses and services around town.

Did we miss your favorite coffee spot? Let us know in the comments or share with us on Facebook. Don't forget to check back on Friday at noon, when we'll announce the winner.

Editor's Note: Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results, comments on this article and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch. Voting ends at 9 a.m. Friday.

Peet's can maybe boast the best coffee in the whole country, but in this town there's no better coffee shop than Brothers K. It makes my neighborhood.
