Corrupt to the core. Is it the system, or is it the people?

As people are asking, more and more, why...why...why...are things so screwed up?... I can only say...well, there is not a simple answer.

However, it has always been my opinion, that the great majority of human beings on the planet have basic goodness at the core of their heart/mind.

Some may disagree, and point to the fact that they "know" people are selfish, self-absorbed, deceitful and "coin-operated."

To these people I say...look to the philosophers, teachers, and researchers who tell us that, indeed, we "see" the world that is within us.  Indeed, we can do little else.

If you believe people are selfish and "coin-operated," then you will find that to be true, because, indeed, that is how the psyche works.  Our beliefs are very powerful filters which shape our personal reality.

I remember Wayne Dyer talking about this when he described his response to people who asked him "what kind of people do you meet around here?"  

In the first locale, he was approached by people who said they had come from a place where they perceived people to be kind, open, friendly...etc.  To those folks, he responded that they would find the same kind of people where they now lived.  

In the second locale, he was approached by people who said they had come from a place where people were cold and out for themselves.  To those folks, his response was the same...you'll find the same kind of people here.

Ha!  Whether or not he made this whole thing up...it's a beautiful description of how life works.  The beauty of it is that we really do manifest that which is in us.

If you are suspicious of people and oriented towards having to outsmart, outwit, outmanuever them at every turn...well, then you're going to pretty much end up with a perspective carved in stone that supports those beliefs.

If, on the other hand, you view others as having basic goodness at their core, as you know it is also at your own core, then your experience of people will be entirely different.

You will actually help people, not only by "seeing" them as good, but by inspiring them to see themselves as good.  This is a revolutionary act, because, in the big picture, the world cannot and will not continue down a path of "terrorism," violence, poverty, division, destruction and chaos if we say "NO" to the so-called reality that is being shoved down our throats by a few psychopaths controlling the monetary/banking system, the government and the media, all of whom are rich beyond imagining.

The first step in any meanful revolution is in belief system to which we subscribe.

Thus, our first priority must be to really examine our own belief system.

I am not saying people don't make mistakes.  I'm not saying people don't get corrupted, bought off, or, just brainwashed.  

And I'm NOT saying that there are not powerful forces at work trying to get us to see each othere as "evil," as the "other."

As the "rich businessman" or the "opportunistic welfare recipient" ...

As the "terrorist Palestinian" or the "racist Zionist"...

As the "left wing liberal commie who wants to punish and steal from the creative productive folks" or the "right wing capitalist who wants to exploit workers and make as much money as he possibly can."

What I am saying is that we must stand up...stop giving our power away to "authorities" who are so eager to tell us who our enemies are....when, indeed, we have no idea.  

We have been coralled into "belief camps" that have little to do with the truth about the vast majority of human beings.

People everywhere want peace, prosperity, love, joy and laughter.  That is our common desire, and to think that there are many who do NOT share this is to be truly diluded.

But, there are those people, who have been so tragically co-opted, corrupted, bought, payed for, manipulated, mis-educated (schooled) or just brainwashed ..that they will not be able to handle this simple truth.

But, it's still the simple truth.

People, by and large...90 to 95%...are good.  So we MUST remember...we are many.  They are few.

Those who have harnessed great wealth and power out of their own fear, loathing, conditioning and mistaken perseptions...are few.

They are not going to be able to continue, as people everywhere are waking up to the fact that they have been and are being lied to, not just about geo-political events, the monetary system and "terrorism," but about the nature of human beings and their place in the universe.

Be discerning.  Look to alternatives outside the corporate-owned media for answers. Look to the researchers, reporters and analysts who are not well paid.

Seek digligently for truth...and, yes, it will set you free.
