It's my party and I'll lie if I want to...

Green Party Leaders...Women in Chains...the kinky, the stinky, and the finky state of debate in these not-so-United States.

You may have heard...well, maybe, but perhaps not if you limit yourself to the mainstream, corporate owned press...that Jill Stein and Cheri Honkala...the leaders of the Green Party were...ummm...detained... for trying to gain access to the latest presidential debate.  Detained...well, actually, chained to a chair for eight hours.  I guess it could have been worse.  They could have been labeled terrorists and taken to a military prison, with no lawyer, no habeus corpus...forever...(Yes, our president signed the National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA to celebrate last New Year's Eve)  Anyway, I digress.

Jill and Cheri...you go-go greens...what were you thinking?  Well, let me guess.  You were probably thinking something like..."Hey, this is a democracy, and there are lots of people out there who would like to hear our point of view.  This two party circus is ridiculous, because nobody's talking about anything that's actually going to turn this train around...and we're headed for a brick wall!"

Hmm...maybe you should have checked with Ralph Nader, who was accosted and threatened with arrest in 2000 for standing up for his right to be heard, or Ron Paul supporters who were endlessly harrassed by the Republican Party which was dead set against his bring-all-the-troops-home/peace now message, as well as his message to end the corrupt financial/military/war complex which we so blindly feed with our ignorance, cowardice and taxes.

Maybe Jill and Cheri should have checked with the Constitution Party, which believes we should have personal freedoms...  or the Justice Party, which believes our judiciary should be independent of financial and political influence.  Maybe some of these people could have warned Jill and Cheri before they found themselves chained to a chair...with no lawyer, no respect, and basically, no rights whatsoever.

Well, I hope you enjoyed the presidential debates...cheering for your side and all. The truth is people, you were all cheering for the same side...the only side.  In other countries they call it Fascism.  But that's not possible here in America, now is it?
