People, get ready....there's a train a'comin.

That light at the end of the tunnel...could be an oncoming train. And it could be coming to a town near you.

I got a nice note from patch a few days back, nudging me to blog...because my blogs get a good number of hits.  That's great news, because today's blog is something I would like lots of people to see, and the pay attention to.

There's a funny saying in the investment world that goes something like...

"Millionaire investors don't pay any attention to astrological indicators, but billionaire investors most certainly do!"  I don't know what's going on up there among the heavenly bodies, but it must be something big.

I am neither a millionaire or a billionaire.  If I were, I'd probably be spending money over at Studio Media in Evanston, spending money making another CD.

Anyway, far from being a millionaire or billionaire, I'm just a lowly, everyday human, inching along like most of us.  However, I have a defiant streak.  Some would call it a character flaw.  My mother, in her attempts to gently point out her frustration with me while I was growing up, would say I had "a strong will."  I say, simply, I don't trust "the authorities."

Today, that streak is manifesting in a trip to Toronto in order to attend a closed meeting that will NOT be videoed or put on youtube.  The cost is minimal, just enough to cover the expense of renting the space where the meeting is to take place.  Eric Lieberman has been so kind as to accompany me, and we'll be leaving shortly.  The meeting is with Jim Sinclair.

I became familiar with Jim and his long career in the business of investment and finance when I started listening in on interviews with "the top people in the world."  This is how Eric King refers to the men he interviews.  (There is one woman...Louise Yamada, a brilliant and famous chart analyst).  I started listening to these interviews soon after he started doing them.

See, Eric King was appalled at the mainstream media's coverage of the financial sector, and I was appalled at Merrill Lynch's botched handling of my very modest IRA, which served to compel me to turn my back on yet another "expert" or "authority" paradigm.

I had already stared down the AMA's poisonous and cockeyed allopathic "health" care approach when I was at death's door in the late 1990's.  This was one of my life's more terrifying moments.  I remember the nurse shaking my hand, and looking at me like I was most certainly doomed for turning my back on the "good" doctor's advice.  But, as life frequently provides viable alternatives if you seek them diligently, I was thus blessed.

I found the Body Ecology Diet and it's associated recommendations, like high colonics...but that's fodder (fertilizer???ha ha) for another blog.  In case I forget though, I want to say Dr. David Edelberg (Chicago) was a great help to me in understanding how the medical world works.  There are truly good doctors out there who will NOT practice CYA...or "cover your ass" medicine.  I met David when we were both parents at the Chicago Waldorf School, yet another example of my disdain for authority, this time in the form of "state approved" public schooling.

This is NOT to dismiss the sacrifices and service of the (mostly) women who toil to teach in this system.  I personally salute them for doing their best under a burdensome and corrupt top-down system where, it seems to me, mostly entitled white guys in suits with their heads up their asses are dictating their insane, heartless and artless standards and dictates to an increasingly disempowered group of hard working women who, if they were left to their own instincts and devices, would be able to do a dandy job of truly educating children.  But as it stands now, they are forced to school them, and sneak in any truly valuable lessons to their young charges in spite of the boot of the state stomping on their necks. Don't get me started on Rahm Emmanuel.  Man, oh man!  Is it any wonder the universe saw fit to take his middle finger?

Ok...so now, back to the financial world.  There is a palpable tension in the air around money, banks, and financial security.  Not so much in America as people here are still trusting of mainstream media and charming, well-groomed media personalities and politicians who are great at getting them to believe in the Republican/Democrat divide.

(I have to say, these people are really good at their jobs, because I know in my heart, people are NOT stupid.  But, most...being good natured and desiring to believe in humanity, simply can't accept the fact that there are really, really competent and charming people who are completely motivated by greed, ego, a sense of entitlement, and concern for themselves and their own at the expense of us commoners.)

At any rate, Americans are still, by and large, drinking the cool aid. The media is still using the word "recovery," and reporting the official government numbers.  But the cracks are starting to show.

Now, I hope you understand what has happened in Cyprus.  People's deposits are being stolen by the banks they entrusted to keep their money safe.  Of course, people all around Europe are freaking out!  Could this be repeated throughout Europe?  Is this what the European Union and the Euro promised?  Of course not.

The people of Europe have been betrayed.

Americans too have been betrayed, in too many ways for me to address in this blog. But Americans are not freaking out.

Not yet.

Today, I'm going to Toronto and tomorrow I'm attending this "meeting."  I'll report back to you, if that's appropriate.  In the meantime, listen to what Jim Sinclair had to say in his latest interview with Eric King.  This is not an audio interview, but I'm sure there's one coming with Jim soon....on kingworldnews.com.

It snowed up here in Northern Michigan last night.  Ah well.  Maybe I'll get to cross country ski in May?  Fun, huh?  At least I have the comfort of knowing my friends and family in Chicago are seeing signs of Spring.
