Thank you Larry King

Larry King hosts independent candidates who are thinking outside the box. This could be your chance to break away.

Tonight in downtown Chicago, Larry King will host a debate featuring independent candidates for President.  This is, to me, a hopeful sign that a break away culture is alive and well in America.  I've also heard that more and more people are breaking away from mainstream corporate media, a very hopeful sign.

Currently, independent candidates are not allowed to gain any traction here, as the two headed (two party) monster we call a "democracy" has left us with, collectively, laughably shallow public discourse, which has turned otherwise well-meaning people into shrieking, sign-waving mental midgets.

Today I leave you with a short, three minute clip of Nigel Farage, leader of the Independent Party in the UK.  At least there, people have a chance to hear about issues from an intellectually active dynamo unafraid to speak truth to power.  Here in the US, the stakes are far too high to ever allow such a leader to access the national stage.

Having been involved in the past few months in local politics, I am sad to tell you that my greatest fears have been confirmed.  We have gotten what we deserve.  We no longer even care to look behind the blabber we are spoon fed.  If a leader of vision and character came along, few would even show up to listen.

We stand on the abyss of an economic meltdown that will engulf the entire planet, yet most people don't even know what QE means, or that Federal Reserve is not Federal (hello, it's Private!), and is not a Reserve.

We stand on the abyss of World War III, yet our presidential candidates don't even address the obvious question..."What the F%*%! are we doing...we've got blood on our hands??!!"

Thank God, at least in the UK, that a Nigel Farage is allowed to be heard.  It would be nice if it could happen here, but I believe, first, the roof will have to collapse on our collective heads (this is not far off) before we're willing to listen.
