The 800 pound Gorilla in the room...how long can we ignore it?

Drones, drones everywhere, but it's ok...they're keeping us "safe."

Perhaps you heard some of Rand Paul's fillibuster regarding the legality and morality of our unmanned drone program.  Perhaps you don't care, because you trust the President, and you distrust all Republicans.

I was like that once.  But I cared deeply about Gitmo, about seeing an end to America's endless war scenarios, and was utterly devastated as the months wore on, and nothing changed.  In fact, our policies have gotten even more draconian than during the Bush years, something I thought was impossible.

Now, I could care less about what party someone claims to work for, vote for, or identify with.  To me, there's only one litmus test.

War is a racket, considered by the hyper-wealthy power elite class to be a dandy way to work things their way.  Most politicians are highly rewarded for going along with their scenario, and have essentially sold their souls or are just to dumb or naive to understand what they have become party to.  Others are in deep denial, because to speak truth to power would devastate their careers, relationships, and bank accounts.

Innocent people...children, families, elderly... are dying violently, killed by American drones and other sophisticated weaponry.  Of course, most all of them are Arabs, so many Americans probably reckon...well, that's ok.  They're likely terrorists.  But I hate to inform you that you have been boondoggled into a dangerous and racist mind set if you think that what is going on is justifiable.  I can't even really believe most people really think it's ok, either.  But the implications of admitting that to ourselves is just too overwhelming...so it's easier to not think about it.

But our silence is all that's needed to make sure these crimes against humanity can keep happening.  So, I'm asking you today, to watch this brief video, and to take a moment to consider what our elected officials are doing in our name.  I'm asking you to consider who and what we are, as a country, and as individuals.
