Geiger for District 202

An endorsement of Bill Geiger for District 202 school board

From Evanston resident,Beth Lange.

I am supporting Bill Geiger for the District 202 School
Board. Bill will bring to the board his expert knowledge of Evanston
and Evanston’s institutions, his skills as a
listener and problem-solver and his unending passion to ensure the success of Evanston’s young people. His proven commitment to Evanston’s youth and to bringing together people andorganizations in Evanston to address the numerous needs for outreach, services, and opportunities is demonstrated through the alliances he’s created between the McGaw YMCA, where he serves as President/CEO.

During my tenure on the (then Evanston) United Way board I served as the liaison
to the McGaw YMCA, one of our grantee organizations. I had the opportunity to
have regular interactions with Bill Geiger and his team at the McGaw YMCA. It
was through those interactions that I gained enormous respect for Bill’s
thoughtfulness, commitment to positive change in his organization, his keen
awareness of challenges and dedication to listening to the concerns and
opinions of others, and to spurring our community to find more ways to
collaborate and address issues of education and opportunity on a community-wide
basis.

Bill Geiger will be excellent in serving our community as a
member of the ETHS school board where he can listen, engage, set direction and
vote on important and complex issues regarding educational vision, practical
fiscal issues, and pragmatic approaches to complex issues facing our high
school students, staff and administrators that oversee ETHS.
