The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem at Evanston & Glenbrook Hospitals Hosts Diaper Drive for Families in Need

Since its inception in 1936, The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem at Evanston & Glenbrook Hospitals has been a lifeline for NorthShore’s Hospitals and programs – raising funds, friends and awareness. This spring, the volunteer organization turned its annual meeting into a diaper drive, collecting vital resources for The Perinatal Support Center at NorthShore Evanston Hospital. Thanks to members’ generosity, The Auxiliary donated more 3,000 diapers to this worthy program. The Auxiliary’s donation will be utilized by the more than 1,800 families who rely on the services and support offered by The Perinatal Support Center annually.

The Perinatal Family Support Center provides a wide array of services to women and their families who experience challenges related to pregnancy, birth, prematurity or perinatal loss. Using a relationship focused model of care, social workers work hand-in-hand with nurses and physicians to provide patients and families with assessment, crisis intervention, emotional support and linkage to community resources while promoting family stability. Services are provided in both inpatient and outpatient settings and include support and education groups, sibling tours and a pediatric literacy program in the Child and Adolescent Center.
