Former Evanston Alderman Maxine Lange Dies at 81

Beloved wife of Charles Lange. Loving mother of Beth Lange, Amy (Jane Newman) Lange and Robert (Marcy) Lange. Proud Nanna of Noam, Rueben, Tatiana, Alexander and Eleanor. Dear sister of Stuart (Carol) Horn, sister-in-law of Shirley (the late Eugene) Lange and mother-in-law of William Martin. Fond aunt and cousin of many. She loved people and politics above all else and enjoyed a storied career as a teacher, Alderman, and health care administrator. She had legions of friends with whom she enjoyed world travel and the vibrant culture of Chicagoland. Service Wednesday, 11:00 am at Jewish Reconstructionist Congregation, (JRC) 303 Dodge Ave., Evanston, IL 60202. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers memorials in her memory to JRC, the Evanston Community Foundation or Planned Parenthood would be appreciated.
