Noted Chicago Architect Arlan Cable Dies at 73

Arlan Cable lived in Evanston and designed several major projects in Chicago, including the Chicago Board of Trade addition, the Northwestern Atrium Building at Ogilvie Station and the O'Hare Blue Line Station.

Arlan Cable, age 73, beloved husband of Phyllis nee Levin, loving father of Alana Cable, loving stepfather of Howard Miller, Mark Miller (Anne Cousineau) and Sandra (Dan) Leib; proud grandpa of Zoe, Samantha, Eli, Alison and Rebecca; dear brother of Herbert (Sandra), Stewart. Project architect on notable Chicago projects such as Chicago Board of Trade addition, Northwestern Atrium Building (Ogilvie Station), O’Hare Blue Line Station and many others. For the past 20 yrs, Arlan developed his artistic talents via oil, water color and pastel works. He was a member of the Northshore Art League, Old Towne School of Art and The Art Institute of Chicago. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Arlan’s memory to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Research, www.lustgarten.org.

Private graveside service will be held on Wednesday.
