Obituary: Charles Lange, 84, "Died of a Broken Heart"

Evanston resident Charles F. Lange died six days after his wife, former 9th ward Ald. Maxine Lange.

Charles F. Lange age 84. Beloved husband of the late Maxine Horn Lange. Loving father of Beth Lange, Amy (Jane Newman) Lange and Robert (Marcy) Lange. Proud papa of Noam, Rueben, Tatiana, Alexander and Eleanor. Dear brother of the late Eugene (Shirley) Lange. Fond brother in law of Stuart (Carol) Horn. Father in law of William Martin. Chuck was a scientist, painter, world traveler, music lover, tinkerer and cook. His curiosity was immense and his devotion to family unparalleled. He died of a broken heart six days after his beloved Maxine. Service Tuesday 2 PM at Jewish Reconstructionist Congregation (JRC), 303 Dodge Avenue, Evanston, Il. 60202. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his memory may be made to JRC, Evanston Art Center, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Northwestern University or Chicago Public Schools Science Fair.
