Obituary: Doris Howe, 95, Volunteered at Pope John XXIII School, St. Francis Hospital

Doris Howe, 95, died on June 4 surrounded by her grandchildren. She was a teachers aid in Chicago and often volunteered in retirement.

Doris A. Howe (nee Loerzel), 95, of Evanston, longtime resident of Chicago, died on June 4 surrounded by her grandchildren. Beloved wife of the late Hilbert. Loving mother of Jennifer Howe, Linda Dienberg and Gregory D. (Kim) Howe. Dear Grandmother of Christopher (Jessica) Dienberg, Jessica A. Dienberg and M. Trixie Dienberg. Doris was a retired teachers aid with the Chicago Public School System.  She worked for many years at Stewart School teaching emotionally emotionally disturbed children.  After retiring she often volunteered, tutoring children in reading at Pope John XXIII School and helping at the Information Desk at St. Francis Hospital.  Services have been held.
