Obituary: Evanston Poverty Lawyer William Kolen, 55

William "Bill(y)" A. Kolen died at age 55 on June 5, 2013. He worked as a poverty lawyer for 30 years and was a lifelong member of the Skokie Men's Club.

William “Bill(y)” A.  Kolen, age 55, of Evanston, IL.

Beloved husband of Caryn Friedman. Loving father of David Kolen and the late Joshua Kolen. Amazing step-dad of Jimmy and Joey Fisher. Cherished brother of Michael (Amy) Kolen and Barbara Kolen (Don). Adored son of the late Eugene and the late Corinne nee Rosen. Dear son-in-law of Leona Friedman and the late Morrie Friedman. Fond brother-in-law of Larry (Michelle) Friedman Susie Levine, Danny (Lisa) Friedman and Special uncle of Raychel (Paul),  Daniel, Cece (Steve), Rica, and 13 additional nieces & nephews.

Graduate of The University of Iowa and Cornell Law School. Passionately worked as a poverty lawyer for the past 30 years. Life-long member of the Skokie Men’s Club. Memorial service Friday, 2:30 PM at Beth Emet - The Free Synagogue, 1224 W. Dempster, Evanston.
