Caroline Colianne to Swim for Team Illinois at 2014 USA Special Olympics USA Games

Evanston’s own Caroline Colianne will compete as part of Team Illinois at the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games which take place June 14-21 at various locations around Princeton, N.J. This is only the third USA Games in Special Olympics history.

Caroline will be competing in the 100 Backstroke, 100 Freestyle,100 Individual Medley and  4x50 Medley Relay.

She has been a competitor with Special Olympics Illinois for 9 years. In that time she has won medals at the state level in aquatics, athletics and basketball.

Caroline is most proud of living independently, competing in several sports and working. Through Special Olympics Illinois she has made lasting friendships (with athletes and coaches) and has improved self-confidence and leadership skills.
