Chicago Murders and Crime

The Media focus on guns and the crimes that people commit with them has become almost an outright oppression of factual reporting, replaced by an Anti-Gun Agenda. Let's look at some facts and then you decide if what I am saying has any basis... FBI Reports have stated that Chicago,Illinois has the highest number of Criminal Gang Members of any City in our Nation, there are reportedly, over 150,000 Criminal Gang Members. FBI Statistics, rate Chicago as the Murder Capitol of our entire Nation. Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart, has reported that the Cook County Jail is filled to its 10,250 Prisoner capacity and that up to 30% are insane or seriously Mentally Ill. Now the simple fact that 15 times as many Criminal Gang Members live in Chicago, as the Jail could even hold...if it were not full already, seems to tell what the real issue is in Chicago and Cook County. It is the number of Criminals, living in Chicago and Cook County that are commiting these crimes. There is no place to lock up even 1% of these Criminals... that is 15,000 people. Now, our Chicago Mayor says that it is the guns and the State of Indiana, that is to blame. CPD Comm. McCarthy blames guns too and that the people of Indiana are not oppressed as much as the State of Illinois, with very strict gun laws. Yet, Indiana does not have a violent crime issue, like Chicago, Illinois. Cook County protects the Criminals residing within its boarders... no Bounty Hunter can Arrest a Criminal in Cook County and bring them to Justice. It is against the Law to enforce the law in Cook County. No Illegal Alien can be Arrested by Federal Immagration Officials in Cook County or Chicago. The Criminals in Cook County, have more Rights than you do! The agenda of blaming guns and trying to violate your Constitutional Rights, while protecting criminals is a Chicago tradition. Just look at the over 700 Pardons that Illinois Governor Pat Quinn has handed out. Over 700, that is 10 times more than any other Governor in the history of the State of Illinois! Anti-Gun, Governor Quinn loves Criminals and then says look...look at the bad thing that the Criminal did with a "GUN". The non-sense has got to stop, the oppression of law abidding gun owners has got to stop. The prejudice, hate mongering and abuse of Second Amendment Defenders has got to stop, the truth is easy to see and understand... the Media and our Chicago Politicians are lying to us. The overwhelming number of Criminals in Chicago and Cook County are the reason for the Crime and Murders... not legally owned guns.

Dan, where do the gangs obtain their guns from?
IgnorantA October 09, 2013 at 02:56 PM
@ blu, most of the guns that end up in the hands of gangs are stolen from someone / someplace. The more sophisticated the gang the more "creative" they become in obtaining weapons. Ex-gang member speaks out about how high-powered guns get into inner city neighborhoods - An unidentified young man has spent most of his life in a gang dealing with guns. We chose not to use his name to protect his identity. He has been shot, committed crimes and been to prison. "I was drinking, smoking weed, in that life that I was living I thought that everything in that life was right," said the former gang member. His life was spinning out of control when he landed in jail. However, it was not until his favorite aunt died that his life changed. He was in a prison cell and could not attend her funeral. "I just got on my knees and I cried from that day on. I just was looking up above. I felt him and it was like couldn't nobody come between me and him," said the young man as he spoke of his relationship with God. Now he has made it a mission to talk about what he believes is the root cause of violence in urban communities: guns and gangs and how high-powered guns get in. "Basically it come through the trains and it be loads of guns. Not no anybody can go on the trains and get guns," he said. "It's gotta be an inside job. So basically what I'm saying is it's very organized." The young man said the guns are written off as insurance losses then once the guns get on the streets it's mayhem. "Theres one distributor - he have a truck van, probably a rental van or probably an Astro van. He pull it out, display all he got," he said. Once the guns are distributed or after a train is hit, destruction happens. "Oh it's show time, show time. Now we're about to go shoot at these dudes, we didn't have no guns we're about to over here and wet these dudes up - it becomes war," he said. Next comes death, prison, or maybe something worse. "When you get a felony and don't have no diploma you're like a nobody. It's like you're the bottom of a shoe, just cement." source - http://www.newsnet5.com/dpp/news/local_news/cleveland_metro/Ex-gang-member-speaks-out-about-how-high-powered-guns-get-into-inner-city-neighborhoods#ixzz2hFiowi4D

MOST were bought in jurisdications with weak gun laws. A study was conducted that traced 50,000 guns recovered from Chicago crimes. More than 15,000 of the guns traced by the police came from just outside the city limits in Cook County and in neighboring towns that permit gun stores. More than 4,000 guns were traced to Mississippi, especially in the rural, western part of the state, more than any outside state other than Indiana. http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2013/01/29/us/where-50000-guns-in-chicago-came-from.html

Somehow the people of Cook County are blind to the "REAL ISSUE"... 150,000 Criminal Gang Members. I do not understand why it is so difficult to comprehend, "Criminals commit Crime" and Cook County is full of criminals. There are thousands of gun owners in Lake Forest, Wilmette, Winnetka, Park Ridge, Skokie and many other communities in the Chicago Suburbs, yet, no Criminal Gang Related Murders with a gun. Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle is fighting tooth and nail to prevent serious jail time for Gang Members caught with an Illegal gun, what message does that send? Wake-up, your Elected Officials are not protecting you, they are protecting the criminals from prosecution and incarciration. Then they point at the guns and say, oh look, guns are bad.

Dan, I agree about the gang problem. But dealing with the lack of comprehensive national background checks and dealing with the gang problem are not mutually exclusive. They BOTH contribute to the high rate of gun violence in Chicago.

Lisa S. Do you believe it is acceptable for a Police Officer to Stop and Frisk you, with no reasonable cause? NYC Mayor Bloomberg created that Violation of our Constitutional Rights... a Federal Court has Ordered it to STOP, because it ruled... it is UnConstitutional to detain a citizen and violate their Right to privacy. At what point are you not willing to allow the Government to violate your Constitutional Rights, in the name of "Security"? Please understand, I am a Constitutionalist and I fight to protect our Constitutional Rights against those who wish to violate them. My fight is not just for our Second Amendment Rights, but rather for all of them. AG Lisa Madigan tried to release the names and addresses of all Illinois FOID Card holders, but the Governor and the Illinois State Police stopped her from being able to do it. Senator John Cullerton, tried to pass a Gun-Ban in the lame-duck Session last year, that would have banned many kinds of guns, including... Pump Action Shotguns. You have to look beyond the Chicago Media and see what is really going on in Illinois, NYC and many other places. The #1 threat to our Constitutional Rights is a 1%er, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Bloomberg has gone on the record calling for a repeal of the Second Amendment and has also stated that the populace sometimes should cede their Rights, so the Government can do what it needs to, to provide security. Now, if you are the kind of person that thinks Mayor Bloomberg and his 1% friends have your best interest in mind, than you are not the person that I thought you are. If these Anti-Gun Advocates could get you and the rest of the Nation to give up all of the legally owned guns in America... do you really think that you would be safer? Do you think that the criminals that already have guns, will surrender them? Your Constitutional Rights are sacred, please do not allow the acts of insane and criminal people to influence you to sacrifice your Freedom for a mere promise of Security, fore, if you do, you will deserve neither.

The political and media emphasis on guns rather than gangs is a way to misdirect people's attention from the real problem which is of course the gangs. Politicians and the Media are afraid of dealing with the issue of gangs because, for example, in Chicago, the gangs are black gangs and some are Latino gangs. The accusation of racism is therefore always hanging as a threat over whoever wants to tackle or even discuss the problem. So we keep talking about guns, which is a much safer topic. Legal guns are owned by and large not by minorities (although this is changing as more and more blacks get guns legally to defend themselves from the gang-sters in their midst), so it is safer to try to limit these law abiding citizens from having guns as much as possible and take the guns away from them gradually and surreptitiously, turning the US into a replica of Europe, the continent where governments, not citizens, have killed millions. Meanwhile the gang problem continues unabated. Chicago even gives a Six Figure Grant to a felon, head of one of the branches of the Gangsters Disciples, so he can open a liquor store, and this with the support of an alderwoman who got a donation from the gangster. Besides, black gangs help politicians with money and manpower come election time. But journalists are afraid to investigate any of this, and with reason! Much safer to continue condemning all those bad bad guns that all by themselves do all the killing around here.

Tantor, I am impressed, keep up the good work of telling the truth, somebody has to do it, our media outlets sure won't.
Tantor October 14, 2013 at 11:13 PM
Politicians especially cannot handle the truth. The Chicago Crime Commission estimates that the Vice Lords alone, a very effective black gang, has 30,000 gang-sters among its various sometimes warring branches. Chicago police has only 12,000 officers, and many are sitting behind desks. You can do the math. The gang-sters could take over the city any time they wanted. But they dont have to (a la the classic movie The Warriors), because they already control the streets, which is what matters because it is there that the drug dealing and trafficking and robbing and mugging and prostitution and shooting and murdering takes place. Chicago authorities simply cannot control these gangs. It is mathematically impossible. So they misdirect the people's attention towards the horror of guns and semiautomatic rifles and have a field day every time a demented or desperate individual kills a few dozen people now and then, while the gang-sters, who are the real danger in this country, and far more than the Muslim "terrorists" (how much damage have these terrorists caused compared to what the gang-sters have done over the years and keep doing?) keep dealing drugs, prostituting young women, mugging and murdering on a steady basis in our big cities. Pityful, but many people fall for it and the Media plays the politicians' game because reporters, too, are afraid of handling the truth. When Senator Kirk spoke of jailing 18,000 gang-sters (some damage it would do to the 150,000 gang-sters in the city!) Bobby Rush and the black lobby with some media help dumped on him. He has now shut up about the whole thing. There is nothing in it for him as there is nothing in it for any politician in Chicago. Better talk about how bad those guns are and how we should control them more than we do. BTW, the trial of the thug who beat the two young women (one a student from Ireland) almost to death in Chicago 3 years ago WITH A BAT to take their purses is about to start. One woman is basically paralized. They other is gravely impaired. Politicians dont talk about it and the trial has not made the front pages of Chicago or national newspapers or News stations of course.
