The greatest aspect of having an opinion column in Evanston is never running out of material.
In the fifteen years I've lived here, I've gotten to know educators, artists, musicians, politicians, scholars, retauranteurs, entrepreneurs, activists, actors, and athletes. I've met people finding their way and forging new paths, and I'm never at a loss to find a new friend in this town. I've been introduced to inspiring kids (and some I'd like to throttle). One of my biggest regrets about living in Evanston in not having enough time in the day to take advantage of every festival, gallery opening, and business in town. Not a bad problem to have.
