Youth Job Center Receives $50,000 from the Chicago Community Trust for Career Pathways Program

(Evanston, IL) The Youth Job Center is pleased to announce that it was awarded $50,000 from the Chicago Community Trust for its Career Pathways program.  The grant will support youth during the three phases of the career pathways program-job-readiness training, a subsidized internship and the attainment of a relevant, industry-recognized credential.  Specifically, this grant will focus on providing an automotive training bridge program to youth, 18-25, currently not connected to work or school or “opportunity youth.”

“The Youth Job Center is thrilled to have the support of the Trust on this exciting new initiative,” says YJC Executive Director, Sacella Smith.  “The Career Pathways program combines all of the necessary elements-training, experience and education-to lead to permanent employment in a career path job.”
