Want to know what it's like to be a firefighter with the city of Evanston? Tune in to Twitter this Friday to find out.
From 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday, July 27, the city will be hosting a "5-Alarm Tweet Along," providing minute-by-minute updates on what goes on inside Evanston's five firehouses.
“This will provide a unique glimpse at equipment, procedures and daily routines of our dedicated fire staff," Fire Chief Greg Klaiber said in a press release. "Additionally, it will allow residents to learn more about the department and engage with our firefighter/paramedics in a new way. We are all very excited about this initiative.”
Firehouse followers on Twitter can expect to see not just text updates but photos of the Personal Watercraft Team at work and links to videos of firefighters in action. Followers can alsk ask the fire department questions and enter to win a chance for their child to take a free ride to school on a fire engine.
