Ald. Grover Witnessed Gunfight Outside ETHS

Evanston Ald. Jane Grover saw a man firing a gun across from the high school Tuesday afternoon. "I've been so angry since then," she told the 'Daily Northwestern.'

Evanston Ald. Jane Grover (7th Ward) was an eyewitness to a gunfight outside Evanston Township High School this Tuesday, an incident that has led to one arrest so far, according to the Daily Northwestern.

Grover told the Daily that she witnessed one man firing a gun in front of a white stucco home on Dodge Avenue that day, and said her first reaction was outrage: “I’ve been so angry since then, actually…that there’s some idiot on our street shooting at our people across from our high school at four o’clock in the afternoon.”

Police say two men got into a dispute, then exchanged gunfire in the front yard of a home in the 1600 block of Dodge Avenue around 4 p.m. Tuesday, just as dozens of parents were pulling into the Evanston Township High School parking lot for Nichols Middle School graduation.
