Armed Robbery Reported on NU Campus

A male student was robbed of $10 and his iPhone, according to police.

Two men robbed a male Northwestern University student as he walked in a campus parking lot Monday night at 11:01 p.m., according to a campus security alert.

The victim was in the Engelhart parking lot when two men approached him, according to the alert. One of the men grabbed the victim by the neck and the other "was in possession of a large wooden stake," it said. The suspects demanded money, took $10 and an iPhone from the victim, and fled westbound on Foster Street.

The victim was not hurt.

"Both subjects were described by the victim as male African American 5’7” to 5’8” tall and having thin builds. The first subject was also described as wearing a black tank top and a black baseball cap worn backwards. The victim could not provide a detailed description of the second subject," the alert said.

Campus police are requesting people who may have information on the case to contact them at 847-491-3456.
