Arrests Include Battery, Assault, Cannabis Possession

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Evanston Police Department:

Arrests: Battery, Assault, Cannabis, Retail Theft

Shami Cox, 22, of the 8500 block of Christiana in Skokie, was arrested and charged with battery at 11:09 p.m. Monday, June 3, in the 4100 block of Madison Street, according to police. Kajiv C. Fowler, 20, of the 8600 block of Kedvale in Skokie, was arrested and charged with assault in the same incident, police said.

Demetre G. Irby, 21, of the 1700 block of Simpson Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, in the 1500 block of Wesley Avenue, police reported.

Christopher D. Lawson, 26, of the 1700 block of Simpson Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass at 9:34 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, in the 700 block of Church Street, according to police.

Cash Stolen From Garage, Car

Someone stole cash from an unlocked garage in the 2700 block of Thayer Street between 9 p.m. Monday, June 3, and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, police reported.

Someone stole cash from a 1996 Nissan parked in the 2300 block of Hastings Avenue between 8 p.m. Saturday, June 1, and 12 p.m. Sunday, June 2, according to police.

Backpack Stolen From Business

Someone stole a green backpack with its contents from the back area of a business in the 2100 block of Central Street between 5:30 and 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, according to police.
