Attempted Burglary Reported At Howard Street Business

Attempted Burglary Reported On Howard

Someone kicked in the rear door of a business in the 700 block of Howard Street between 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, and 1:45 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, according to police.

Arrests: Retail Theft, Credit Card Fraud, Etc.

Aaron T. Mackey, 37, of the 1700 block of Hovland Court in Evanston, and Richard M. McGinnis, 50, of the 1500 block of Darrow Avenue in Evanston, were arrested and charged with retail theft on Thursday, Feb. 7, according to police. Police say the two men stole a torch roof liner and five gallons of aluminum paint from a hardware store in the 2300 block of Oakton Street.

James Crawford Richmond, 53, of the 1900 block of Dodge Avenue in Evanston, was arrested and charged with violating an order of protection in the 1900 block of Dodge Avenue at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, according to police.

Patrick C. Stephens, 37, of the 1400 block of Luna Street in Chicago, was arrested and charged with credit card fraud at 3:41 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, in the 2300 block of Howard Street, according to police.

Sylvia Dorota Tabor, 26, of the 7400 block of West Lawrence Avenue in Harwood Heights, was arrested and charged with retail theft after she stole food from a grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue at 1:50 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, police reported. 

Kyle Merino Zbylut, 18, of the 1200 block of West Waveland Street in Chicago, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at 3:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue, according to police. 

Cody R. Zervas, 19, of the 1900 block of Orrington Avenue in Evanston, was arrested and charged with retail theft after he stole food from a grocery store in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue at 1:10 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, according to police. 

Wallet, Purse Stolen At House Parties

Someone stole a wallet with its contents from a party at a home in the 1100 block of Michigan Avenue between 7 and 8:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, according to police. A driver’s license, Illinois ID, credit cards, CTA cards and library card were among the items reported missing.

Someone stole a pink and green Vera Bradley purse with its contents and a knee-length North Face black jacket that were left unattended at a party in the 900 block of Gaffield Place between 11:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, and 1:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, according to police. 

Bikes Stolen On Oak, Central

Someone stole a black and grey men’s Giant mountain bike from an unlocked garage in the 1500 block of Oak Avenue between 8 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, and 7:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, according to police. 

Someone stole a Trek bicycle from an unlocked apartment or condo common area in the 1400 block of Central Street between 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, and 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, police reported. 

Copper Downspouts Stolen From Church

Someone stole copper downspouts from a church in the 2500 block of Ashland at 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, according to police. 

Bedding Set Stolen From Laundromat

Someon stole a comforter, two pillowcases, two sheets and a duvet from the dryer at a Laundromat in the 800 block of Main Street between 9:10 and 10:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, according to police.

Temporary Plates Stolen On Gaffield

Someone stole a temporary license plate from a car lot in the 2200 block of Green Bay Road between Sept. 30 and Feb. 7, police reported. 

Vending Machine Pried Open at Hotel

Someone pried open a vending machine and stole the cash inside at a hotel in the 1800 block of Maple Avenue at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, according to police. 

Cars Damaged in Howard Street Garage

Someone damaged a 2012 Honda and 2012 Mazda parked in a garage in the 400 block of Howard Street between 12 and 5:55 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, police reported.
