Blotter: Electronics, Cigarettes, Hanging Plants Stolen

Hanging plants stolen
Someone stole two hanging flower plants from a porch in the 1700 block of Madison Street on July 23 between 3 and 4 p.m.

Someone stole a purse that had a wallet, cell phone and Kindle inside from an apartment in the 800 block of Reba Place on July 26 between 1 and 5 a.m.
Vehicle damaged

The windshield was damaged and the rear passenger door dented on a vehicle in the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue sometime between July 25 and 26.
Cigarettes and cigars stolen
A man stole cigarettes and cigars from a store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue at about 6:30 a.m. on July 26.
Electronics stolen
Someone broke into a home in the 1900 block of Darrow Avenue and stole three computers and a flat-screen TV sometime between 7:15 a.m. and 10:18 p.m. on July 26. According to police, the thief or thieves came in through an unlocked window.
Cell phone stolen
A man stole a cell phone and case from an unlocked vehicle in the 2400 block of Emerson Street around 11: 45 p.m. on July 26.
Possession of ammo without proper card
Justin Jay Dunlap, 19, of Evanston was arrested for possession of ammunition without a firearms owner’s identification card on July 25. His court date is set for Sept. 28.
Retail theft
Leroy Grant, 51, of Evanston was arrested for retail theft in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue on July 26. His court date is set for Aug. 31.
Criminal trespass
Richard D. Tharpe, 19, of Evanston was arrested for criminal trespass in the 1600 block of Foster Street on July 26. His court date is set for Aug. 28.
