Blotter: Lots of Bikes Stolen, Car Damaged

The following information was supplied by the Evanston Police Department on Friday, July 12, 2013. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Theft

Someone removed the lock from a locker in the 2400 block of Main Street around 10 a.m. July 11, stole items, including car keys. The person then used the car keys to open the victim’s car and steal more things. Cash and an iPod were amng the stolen items.

An unlocked mountain bike was stolen from the 500 block of Michigan Avenue at 8 a.m. July 11.

A red Schwinn bike that was registered with the Evanston Police Department was stolen from a yard in the 1000 block of Sherman Avenue at noon June 28.

Someone stole a bike from a park in the 2600 block of Sheridan Road between 8 and 10:30 p.m. July 4.

Someone stole cash from a building in the 700 block of Brummel Street around 10 a.m. July 11.

Criminal defacement

Someone wrote graffiti on a residential garage in the 700 block of Custer Avenue between midnight and 7 a.m. July 11.

Burglary

A laptop of cash were stolen from a home in the 1000 block of Florence Avenue by someone who entered through an unlocked window between 10 a.m. and noon on July 8.

Criminal damage to vehicle

Someone broke a window and dented the hood on a 2005 Dodge parked in the street in the 1500 block of Fowler Avenue between July 10 and 11.

Burglary from motor vehicle

Someone stole a backpack from an unlocked Isuzu in an alley on the 800 block of Case Street between 10 a.m. and noon on July 11.

Criminal trespass

Thomas E. Brown, 50, of Southfield, MI, was charged with criminal trespass on July 10 at Colfax and Sherman.

Child endangerment

Shashanna V. Cross, 35, of Evanston, was charged with child endangerment on July 11.

Battery

Gladys Jimenez, 18, of Skokie was charged with battery July 10.

Soliciting

James E. Love, 43, of St. Louis, MO, was charged with soliciting on July 11.
