A man hit his victim in the right ear in a battery in the 100 block of Elmwood Avenue between 9 and 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, police reported.

Aggravated Assault and Telephone Harassment

Ginny Narula, 46, of the 1200 block of Oak Avenue in Evanston, was arrested and charged with telephone harassment, aggravated assault and two counts of disorderly conduct in the 1200 block of Oak Avenue at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 30, according to police.

Failure to Register as a Sex Offender

Michael Beckom, 50, a homeless man from Evanston, was arrested and charged with failure to register as a sex offender in the 7300 block of Niles Center Road at 4:20 a.m. Monday, July 30, police reported. 

Attempted Burglary on Lawndale

Someone removed the screen from a window in an attempted burglary in the 2500 block of Lawndale Avenue between 8:21 p.m. Sunday, July 1, and 7 a.m. Sunday, July 29, police reported.

Bikes Stolen on Hinman, Benson

Someone stole a black men’s Bianci bicycle from a garage in the 1300 blcok of Hinman Avenue between 7 p.m. Monday, July 30, and 5 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, police reported.

Someone stole two women’s road bikes that were locked up in the 1600 block of Benson Avenue between 4 and 8:30 p.m. Monday, July 30, according to police.

Blu-Ray DVDs, Skyy Vodka Stolen in Retail Thefts

A man stole five Blu-Ray DVDs from a store in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue around 2:10 p.m. Monday, July 30, according to police.

A woman stole a 750 milliliter bottle of Skyy vodka from a liquor store in the 1000 block of Davis Street around 8:53 p.m. Monday, July 30, police reported.

Anthony Quinn Bailey, 45, of the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue in Evanston, was arrested and charged with retail theft in the 800 block of Davis Street at 7:43 a.m. Monday, July 30, police reported.

Stolen Air Conditioner on Sherman

Someone stole a Frigidaire window unit air conditioner from the common area of an apartment or condo in the 2200 block of Sherman Avenue between 3 and 3:45 p.m. Monday, July 30, according to police. 

Criminal Damage to a Vehicle

Someone damaged the rear window of a 2006 Toyota parked in the 400 block of Dodge Avenue between 1:30 and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, according to police.

A woman scratched the driver’s side door and hood of a 1999 Chrysler parked in the 1400 block of Grey Avenue between 1 and 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, police reported.

Graffiti Discovered On Condo

Police found graffiti in the common area of an apartment or condo building in the 1500 block of Oak Avenue. It appeared sometime during the month of July, police reported.
