Police investigated a report that a man fired a gun in the 1300 block of Dodge Avenue at 10:47 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1. Nothing was found in the area.

Battery on Foster, Dobson

Justin Neal-Guy, 18, of the 1700 block of Dodge Avenue in Evanston, was arrested and charged with battery in the 1100 block of Dobson Street at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, according to police. 

Stephanie Mary Montgomery, 20, of the 9900 block of Holly Lane in Des Plaines, was arrested and charged with battery after she allegedly grabbed someone by the arm in a yard in the 1800 block of Foster Street at 7:25 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, police reported.

Residential Burglary on Florence

Someone stole keys, a gray cordless drill, an Augen ebook reader, black Dell Inspiration laptop computer and Chicago Cutlery knife from an apartment in the 400 block of Florence Avenue between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2. The burglar appears to have entered through a kitchen window, according to police. 

Diamond Jewelry Stolen on Cowper

A man stole several pieces of diamond and gold jewelry from a bedroom dresser of a home in the 2500 block of Cowper Avenue between 9 and 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, according to police. 

Flat Screen TV Stolen on Foster

Someone stole a 50” LG flat screen TV from the living room of a home in the 2200 block of Foster Street between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, police reported.

Stereo System Stolen on Howard

Someone stole an ABC stereo system from a 2002 Buick parked in the 2100 block of Howard Street between 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, and 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, police reported.   

Bicycles Stolen on Elmwood, Lincoln

Someone stole a Bianchi teal blue men’s road bike from a locked apartment or condo common area in the 500 block of Elmwood Avenue between 10 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, and 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, according to police. 

Someone stole a blue Raleigh mountain bicycle that was left unlocked in the yard of a home in the 2700 block of Lincoln Street between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. Saturday, July 21, according to police. 

Burglary From a Motor Vehicle

Someone stole cash, a car cell phone charger and a baby car seat from an unlocked 2012 Honda parked in the 2000 block of Dobson Street between 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, and 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, according to police. 

Someone stole a Garmin GPS unit and a set of valet keys from a 2009 Honda in the 3000 block of Thayer Street between 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, and 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, according to police.   

Someone stole loose change from an unlocked 2004 Honda and 2000 Toyota that were parked in the driveway of a home in the 1100 block of Grant Street between 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, and 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, police reported.

Someone damaged the rear window of a 2004 Mercury and stole black and red Nike Jordan clothes in the 600 block of Hull Terrace between 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, and 7:12 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, according to police. 

Graffiti Found on Fowler, Elmwood

Police found graffiti in an alley in the 1300 block of Fowler Avenue that appeared between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1. 

Police found graffiti written in the 100 block of Elmwood Avenue at 3:40 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2.
