Bomb Threat at Evanston Township High School

The school has been evacuated.

Evanston Township High School has been evacuated after a bomb threat was found written in the bathroom. All afternoon athletic activities have been cancelled.

"We have received a bomb threat written on toilet paper in a restroom," reads an announcement on the school website. "While it is questionable about the veracity of the threat, we have consulted with the Evanston Police Department and have been advised to evacuate the school so police officials can thoroughly search the school."

An Evanston Patch reader said she received a robo-call from the school that said all District 65 students would be dismissed at a normal time.

The bomb threat comes only a few days after two pipe bombs and a decapitated body were discovered at Fitzsimmons Park, right next to Nichols Middle School.  Nichols was closed the day of the incident and the day after.
